Full productions include SHE'LL FIND HER WAY HOME and TODAY by Atlanta’s Jomandi Productions, Inc. SHE'LL FIND... was also produced by Pittsburgh’s Kuntu Repertory Theatre and is available for purchase at HaveScripts.com (see link at bottom right). Other productions include DR. LOVE & THE FABULOUS DIAMOND JUBILEES by Clark-Atlanta University Players, and SISTERS & OTHER CHRISTMAS TURKEYS, a ten minute play by 7 Stages Theatre.
Works In Process include LEAVING LIMBO, to be premiered in January 2006 by Essential Theatre in Atlanta, GA after staged reading by Working Title Playwrights and workshops at Seattle ACT Theatre’s Women Playwrights Festival and Horizon Theatre’s New South Festivals; TRAVELING THOMAS, workshopped during Theatre Emory’s Brave New Works Festivals; and MORAL OF THE STORY, a children’s play.
Awards include AT&T:Onstage, Cultural Olympiad of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, Hermann Kesten Stipend (Nuremberg, Germany), Rouse Company National Humanities Award, and Rockefeller Foundation’s New Play Development Grant.
Publications include SHIFTING POSITIONALITIES: INTERROGATING CULTURAL PLURALISM - A PLAYWRIGHT'S RESPONSE, Theatre Topics, John Hopkins University Press and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education and ALTERNATEROOTS: PLAYS FROM THE SOUTHERN THEATER, edited by Kathie deNobriga and Valetta Anderson, published by Heinemann.
Valetta is Teaching Artist with Atlanta’s Alliance, Fox and Horizon Theatres, Executive Director of DeKalb Council for the Arts, member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Assembly of Community Arts Agencies (GACAA), an affiliate member of Working Title Playwrights, and former Adjunct Drama Professor at Spelman College.
